Preliminary Designs
Clay Vessel Reflection (1-D): January 24, 2013.
1. I think the strong part of my vessel is the texture/design on it because it isnt a lot, but it goes together.
2. I think I could have done better on getting all sides being the same thickness and the top being all one height because I kind of just was done after I did my design.
3. Its about as big as a mug, circular on the bottom and square at the top, and I chose it to be like this because I wanted to put stuff in it but not have it take up to much space at the same time.
4. The purpose of my vessel is to hold either spare change, or any little thing that is lying around in my room.
5. I had zig zag lines repeated the most, I think I had rythm because their not all the same size and shape all around because I like the way it looked.
6. I learned that if you take your time and be patient that you can get what your working for. You could apply this to life because the more patient you are with things the better they will turn out in the end.
7. I didn't really plan a process at all, I just wedged my clay and started the pinch vessel that I knew how to form. I did something different than I wanted to but it turned out good.
8. I think that this is a good project to have first to start out the class because its not hard and you can get a good result if you try. I dont think you really need to change anything because it all worked out well.
